Just a Closer Look at Bobby F. McCord

Brother Bobby was born on April 1, 1962 in Iuka, Mississippi and raised a few miles down the road in Corinth. His father left the family when Bobby was eight; so, his mother ended up raising three boys on her own. He and his brothers grew up in church with church activities being the only activities they took part in. He was saved at the age of 14 at Kendrick Baptist Church. Great men of God invested time and resources in Bobby at church and; he said he would not be saved today without that investment.

He graduated from Gallia Academy High School in Gallipolis, Ohio in 1980. He met his lovely bride-to-be, Melica (Lisa) L. Hutson at church. Soon after graduating he married Lisa and joined the Army. They were stationed in Germany for three years, then spent three more years at Redstone Arsenal Alabama as an ammunition specialist.

At the end of his service in the Army he began working in construction and ended up having his own business. He had not been attending church while in the Army; but soon after moving back home he received a visit from one of the men that had invested in him as a child. He confronted Bobby about not having his wife and young daughter in church. Bobby knew the gentleman was right; they were at church the next Sunday.

Soon, Bobby began to feel God calling him to preach. He served as a music and youth minister, thinking that would suffice, but God kept calling. In 2006, He surrendered his whole life to Him as a preacher of the Gospel. In 2007, he was licensed and ordained and started his first fulltime ministry at First Baptist Adamsville, knowing the experience would help him as a pastor in the future. While there, he served under Brother Frank Kemper. He mentored Bobby and became a precious friend. All the while, he was attending night classes through Union University. He has 60 credit hours from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, RG Lee Studies and 30 credit hours from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. God then called him to Turkey Creek in Savannah, Tennessee and his preaching ministry began.

Bobby and Lisa have one daughter, Kimberly Waldrop, and one son, Bobby C. McCord.

The following is a quote from Brother Bobby stating his beliefs:

“I preach, study, teach and live from the KJV Bible; but I serve King Jesus, not King James. I believe that God’s Word is inerrant, infallible, and inspired. I believe in Biblical standards for pastors and deacons. I believe salvation is found only through Christ. I believe whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved, not just the predestined elect. I believe in Biblical marriage. I believe in the sanctity of life. I believe in repentance. I believe in judgement. I believe in grace, mercy, and forgiveness. I believe there is only one race, the human race, created in the image of God. I preach what I believe because I believe the Bible. I am a conservative, fundamental Bible preacher. I know I am saved, called, and anointed to preach God’s Word.”
